Before you begin knitting: The cardigan is worked back and forth on circular needles, top down. The design features a wide, straight neckline, continuously constructed buttonholes, buttons along the front and wide sleeves. The sleeves are shaped using short rows, and the needle size is gradually changed to create sleeve width at the lower sleeve. First the back piece is worked, then the front pieces, the shoulders are sewn together by hand, the body is worked, and finally the sleeves. Buttons are attached and ends are woven in.
